Naked Flames

On a hot Saturday afternoon in July, DCI Harry Brock is called to the Pretext Club, a naturist retreat near Harrow in north-west London.  A chalet has gone up in flames and the fire brigade is in attendance.  Inside is the dead and badly burned body of Robert Sharp, a womaniser and petty fraudsman.

Once the fire investigator’s report arrives on Brock’s desk, it is clear that he and DS Dave Poole are dealing with a murder.  But as the investigation progresses, it becomes apparent that many people have a motive for wanting him dead, including an antiques dealer in Brighton, an online entrepreneur, an out-of-work salesman, a pregnant librarian and a bereaved mother.  To name but a few.
