On a hot Tuesday morning in June, DCI Brock is sitting in his Belgravia office enjoying a cup of coffee when he is called to Richmond Park in south-west London.

Annette Kowalska was walking her dog when she found the body of a woman in the Isabella Plantation.  The woman, who has been strangled, proves to be the first victim in a string of murders all of which have a common factor: in each case the killer has taken the victim’s bra.

The deadlock is finally broken when a woman, who could have become yet another victim, escapes from the would-be murderer.  But she is a resourceful woman, and leaves a revealing piece of evidence that enables Brock, DS Dave Poole, DI Kate Ebdon and the rest of the team to bring the murderer to justice.
